Here are a few quotes about not being good enough. The feeling of not being enough is something many, many people deal with every day. For most people, this belief stems from childhood, usually caused by their parents or peers. No matter how well you do, you’re told you could’ve done more or even reprimanded for not doing better. Many people work to succeed their entire life just to gain approval from others and no matter how much success they have, they never feel like it’s enough.
How do you deal with this? Here are two suggestions:
1. Forgive
Forgive your parents or whoever it was who made you feel unworthy. They either didn’t know what they were doing or they were just trying to push you to become better. Either way, forgive them. It’s when you take away the control you gave them for determining how you feel about yourself that you can be free to live your life how you want to live it.
2. Improve
Sometimes, the feeling of not being enough comes from your own rules and standards of what you deem acceptable. If you won’t compromise on your standards, then it’s time to focus on improvement. Now instead of judging your self-worth by what you accomplish, judge it by the actions you take and the progress you make, things that you can control. Leaving your self-worth to be determined by things outside of your control is a formula for low self-esteem and emotional disaster.
Most of this is mental and it will take some time to repair any damage people in your past has caused to your self-esteem so be patient.
